I just listened to Jason Alba, CEO of Jibber Jobber talk today in Austin, a presentation organized by Right Management. Jason is an expert on Linked-In and author of I’m On Linked-In, Now What? Jason is remarkably funny. He said when he was a job seeker, he felt like a leper. He had great tips for networking and books such as Never Eat Alone and BRAG! The Art of Tooting Your Horn Without Blowing It.
Quick story: Jason lost his job and discovered how morally and mentally challenging the job search can be. Out of the insights he gained–PAIN he experienced– started Jibber Jobber, which is a Customer Relationship Management tool for the job seeker. There is a free version and a full version for subscribers. The tool looks awesome. Jason also gave us some great tips on Linked-In, such as the Ask Questions feature. And how to link to your resumes through posting on a site such as emurse.com.
Resume Slayer has been slected as “regional expert” for Austin, TX. Their new website will have functionality where job seekers can link with one another, and even interfaces with Twitter,” stated Michael Kranes, owner of Resume Slayer. Resume Slayer’s commitment is to deliver a dynamic presentation on resume writing before the career fair events that will be held in Austin.
