Michael Kranes, CARW

Michael Kranes has an M.F.A. in writing from the University of Texas at Austin and B.A. in History from the University of Utah. He has also taken courses in design from Parsons School of Design in New York City.

Michael has over ten years of experience as a writer, editor, teacher, and produced playwright. His acknowledged talent for writing résumés has stemmed from a unique combination of strengths from his creative writing training, background as grammar, ESL, SAT, and English instructor, and his passion for graphic arts and design.

Michael has studied resume writing the way a samurai studies jujutsu and archery. He has honed his resume artistry based on feedback from clients and top professionals about what works to generate more interviews.  He helps folks get on track when their current resume just isn’t working.

How Michael’s Resume Business Got Started

Résumé Slayer began in 2003 when, after contracting to format résumés for Wright Management in Pasadena, California, Michael envisioned a more personalized and creative approach to résumé writing, combining the highest writing skill, eye-catching design, and expert knowledge of the career industry. As a small business owner, his level of commitment and care to each client exceeds what a larger “résumé factory” can provide.

When Michael isn’t writing resumes … ?

Currently, Michael lives (and passionately loves) the live-music-capital-of-the-world, Austin, Texas. He is an active member of Career Directors International. He is very passionate about the performing arts: theatre, music, and film, as well as visual art.
