Résumé Writer earns coveted International TORI Award

(November 4, 2009 – Austin, TX – When Career Directors International held its annual conference in Orlando, FL in October, the official winners this year’s TORI Awards (Toast of the Résumé Industry) were announced. Professional résumé writer, Michael Kranes, of (Resume Slayer , has won the top prize for Best Résumé in the category of Military Transition Resume.

CDI’s President Laura DeCarlo, proudly states, “Winning a TORI Award represents the pinnacle of résumé writing expertise within the industry. Being recognized as “one of the best” by your peers is an accolade that very few get to savor. We are proud of the achievements in the résumé writing and careers industry, because it encourages our members to strive for excellence.”

Professional résumé writers submitted entries for the TORI Awards in late May, and a panel of the industry’s top writers was selected to judge the submissions. Up to 7 entries were nominated in each category, and CDI officers made the final ruling. The winning résumés and cover letters were announced on October 17^th in Orlando during CDI’s 8^th annual convention. We have partnered with National Career Fairs (NCF) and its new website LocalHires.com (launching July 6th). “What excites me about this partnership is that Localhires.com appears to be really up to date with current trends in social media. Their new website will have functionality where job seekers can link with one another, and even interfaces with Twitter,” stated Michael Kranes, owner of Resume Slayer.
